Funeral services for Mr. William Cody Holland, 87, of Bowling Green, Missouri formerly of Louisiana, Missouri were held at 10:00 a. m. Thursday, April 5th at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, Missouri. The Rev. Randall Cone officiated. Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p. m. Wednesday, April 4th at the funeral home. Burial was in the Buffalo-Jordan Cemetery near Louisiana. Mr. Holland died Monday, April 2, 2007 at the Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, Missouri. He was born October 31, 1919 in Louisiana, Missouri to Leo and Rena Marie Cody Holland. He married Lucille Augustine Bey September 6, 1943 in Louisiana, Missouri and she preceded him in death December 25, 1996. He is survived by two sisters, Rena Burgmeyer of Bowling Green, Missouri and Margaret Cloninger of Louisiana, Missouri, Sister in-law, Rosie Esser and husband, Fred, Brother in-law, Don Burgmeyer, Cousins, Jack and Dixie Holland, Nieces and Nephews, Carolyn and Bill Irvine, Anna and Larry Moore, Butch and Becky Boyer, Cindy Adkison, Bill Hawkins, Betty and Glen Jacobs, Larry and Virginia Esser, Anita Esser, Steve and Diane Esser, Steve and Karen Zimmerman, Kurt and Sandy Wells, Jeannie and Ron Borgman, Doug and Jenny Esser, Randy Esser and John Esser and special friends, Joan Cody, Monte Fisher and Nursing Staff at Moore-Pike Nursing Home. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Marcella Rose Holland who died in 1950, one brother Glenn Holland who died January 30, 2006 and by one sister, Roseanna Holland. Bill had farmed most of his life in the Louisiana area. He was also a rural mail carrier in Louisiana for 20 years before retiring. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army. He was a member of the Buffalo Presbyterian Church near Louisiana, Missouri. Music was provided by Mrs. Dixie Holland and Mr. Steve Holland singing, Amazing Grace and The Old Rugged Cross. They were accompanied by Mrs. Pam Ince on the Piano. Pallbearers were; Randy Moore, Steven Moore, Jack Holland, Chris Moore, Sam Boyer and Monte Fisher.
