Funeral services for Mr. Milo Carlyle Elliott, 86, of Louisiana, Missouri will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, September 3rd at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, Missouri. The Rev. Randall Cone will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 3rd at the funeral home. Military honors will be conducted by members of American Legion Post 370 at the funeral home. Mr. Elliott died at 1:38 a.m. Saturday, September 1, 2007 at his home in Louisiana. He was born January 6, 1921 in Pearl, Illinois to Lester and Lillie Charlton Elliott. He married Mary Clavel on April 22, 1950. To this union, five children were born. He later married Marilyn LaBar Phillips on September 8, 1973 and she survives. He is also survived by one daughter, Phyllis Nelson of Hannibal, Missouri, Three sons; Jimmy Elliott and wife, Sue of Bowling Green, Missouri, Jerry Elliott and wife, Janet of Louisiana, Missouri and Eddie Elliott of Louisiana, Missouri, Three step-daughters: Linda Koester and husband, Jim of Bowling Green, Missouri, Brenda Koester and husband, John of Bowling Green, Missouri and Glenda Francis and husband, Steve of Louisiana, Missouri, His mother in-law, Julia LaBar of Hannibal, Missouri, Six sisters, Ethel Holman, Lula Wright and Geraldine Sloan all of Louisiana, Missouri, Hilda Penrod of Rock Island, Illinois, Martha Peavy of Davenport, Iowa and Marie Martin of Bowling Green, Missouri, Three brothers; Lloyd Elliott of Louisiana, Missouri, Floyd Elliott of New London, Missouri and Harold Elliott of Rio Vista, California, 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Billy Ray Elliott, two grandsons, Lucas Elliott and Jimmy Koester, One granddaughter, Cindy Koester, One great-granddaughter, Lacy LaBar Powell, A son in-law, Larry Nelson, his parents and four brothers, Lester Elliott, Leo Elliott, Clyde Elliott and Russell Elliott. Milo had been employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator on road construction until his retirement. He had also served as Street Commissioner for the City of Louisiana and after retirement had driven a school bus for the Louisiana School District. He was a veteran, serving with the United States Army in World War II and received the Purple Heart, Three Bronze Stars and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of American Legion Post 370 and had been a faithful member of the Honor Guard. He was also a member of the VFW Post 4610 in Clarksville, Missouri. Music will be provided by Mrs. Letha Perkins singing, "In The Garden" and "Amazing Grace". Milo enjoyed going to Bingo, playing cards with his friends at the Trimble House, building fence and walking at the farm, and spending time with his family.
