Doris L. (Silvey) Irvin

Doris Irvin, 88, of Santa Fe, MO, went to her eternal home on Monday, March 4, 2024. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 10, 2024 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00P.M. at Collier Funeral Home, located at 117 Barnard Dr, Louisiana, MO, with funeral following at 3:00 P.M. Robert Rue will officiate. Burial will be in St Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Louisiana, with dinner to follow at Pike Pioneers Senior Center across from post office in Louisiana, MO. Doris was born August 17, 1935 in Apex, MO, to Samuel Leroy Irvin Sr & Laura Edna Bell Hardin. She is survived by a daughter, Rhonda (Darrell) Niffen, 2 sons, Victor Wunderlich Jr, and Michael Kuna, all of Santa Fe, MO. 2 stepsons, Raymond & Jamie Silvey, 2 sisters, Velma (Kenneth) McCormick of Rock Springs, WY, and Alice Dawson, of Louisiana, MO, and one sister-in-law, Vickie Irvin, of Barry, Illinois. Three granddaughters, Jennifer (Jason) Cross of Mexico, Victoria Sessler and Darla Chandler of Bowling Green, and a grandson Darrell Niffen II, of Louisiana, MO. Three grandchildren "adopted by heart" Roger (Jessica) Howard of Paris, MO, and Jeromy Miller, of Louisiana, MO. Nine great grandsons Dakota, Dallas, and Zach Howard, Timothy and Alex Cross, Landon and Jacob Chandler, Vernace Charlton IV, and Marcus Lawson. Five great granddaughters, Jasmine Locke, Amyiah Miller, Clara Sessler, Jayden Cross, and Baileigh Niffen. One great granddaughter "adopted by heart" Samantha Watts, one great grandson "adopted by heart" Devonte Miller, one great great grandson Kyrie Locke, her "little man", and several nieces, nephews, cousins, & friends. Doris was preceded in death by her grandparents, both her parents, one daughter, Terri Wunderlich Bowen, one granddaughter, Michelle Bowen, five unknown grandchildren (miscarriages), one unknown great grand baby, six brothers, Don (Sharon), Bob (Nancy), Norman (Grace), Delmar, Sam Jr and Albert Irvin, one sister Edna (Bill) Harvey, one unknown sibling (miscarriage), a brother in-law Gerald Dawson, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Doris had been employed throughout her life by Kamp-Togs garment factory in Clarksville, MO, Louisiana Plastics, and Maple Grove Lodge in Louisiana, MO. In her younger years she worked for the Glove Factory, the nursery, and Hatfield’s Restaurant in Elsberry, MO. She told numerous stories about herself and her two best friends Bessie Penn Skirvin, and Ollie Skirvin Reeves, and also about her long regret of leaving the love of her life, Harry Reeves. Doris will be lovingly remembered always and greatly missed forever but we all know she is in a loving, peaceful place and is greatly enjoying all her loved ones that have made this journey before her. Pallbearers will be her great grandsons, Dakota Howard, Dallas Howard, Zach Howard, Timothy Cross, Landon Chandler, and Vernace Charlton IV. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandson Darrell Niffen II, and great grandsons, Alex Cross, Marcus Lawson, and Jacob Chandler.
