Cora Meier

Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Evelyn Meier, 79, of Louisiana, Missouri will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 28, 2007 at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, Missouri. The Rev. Jeanne Webdell will officiate. Visitation will be held from Noon until time of funeral service at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 28th at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery near Louisiana, Missouri. Mrs. Meier died Friday, October 26, 2007 at the Moore-Pike Nursing Home in Bowling Green, Missouri. She was born February 24, 1928 in Briscoe, Missouri to William and Mary Starkey Turner. She married Robert William Meier February 28, 1946 at Troy, Missouri and he preceded her in death November 30, 2002. She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Lynn Meier of Springfield, Virginia, One son, Ronald Lee Meier and wife, Linda of Eolia, Missouri, Three grandchildren, Sean Meier and wife, Pam of Bowling Green, Missouri, Talia Emily and husband, Curtis of Middletown, Missouri and Isaac Meier of Eolia, Missouri, Seven great-grandchildren, Ryan Tucker, Hannah Tucker, Gage Emily and Kadyn Emily all of Middletown, Missouri, Jade Meier of Bowling Green, Missouri, Chloe Meier and Cassidy Allison both of Eolia, Missouri, a God-Daughter, Nina Nordwald of Warrenton, Missouri, Three brothers, Richard Turner and wife, Linda of Louisiana, Missouri, Forrest Turner and wife, Bonnie of Louisiana, Missouri and Wayne Turner of Tipton, Missouri, Two sisters, Lillian Creech of Troy, Missouri and Dorothy Keith of Warrenton, Missouri. She was preceded in death by two brothers, James Arnold Turner and Charles Turner and four sisters, Alice Wagner, Vivian Turner, Melba Travis and Clara Mae Smith. Mrs. Meier had been employed as a bookkeeper for American Family Insurance Agency in Louisiana which was operated by her husband for a number of years. She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church in Louisiana and a member of Nightingale Chapter 117 Order of the Eastern Star in Louisiana. Honorary pallbearers are; Steve Meier and Charles Nordwald. Active pallbearers are; Sean Meier, Isaac Meier, Curtis Emily, John Meier, Jeff Hoelscher and Stephen Travis.
