Cindy L. Maschmeier

Cindy L. Maschmeier, 64, of Louisiana, MO, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2023 at the Mercy Hospital in Washington, MO. Her wishes were to be cremated and a Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, MO. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until time of service at the funeral home. Cindy was born on October 11, 1958 in Rock Island, Illinois to Richard L. Parrish and Judith A. Holmes Parrish. As a child she lived in Illinois, Milwaukee, WI, until moving to Missouri to meet her husband, Robbie. They were married on August 1, 1987 in St. Charles, MO. She also had lived in Florida for some time before moving back to live out her days in Louisiana, MO. She is survived by her husband Robbie Maschmeier, her 2 daughters, Cory Maschmeier and Carley Maschmeier, 2 grandchildren, Korban Burse and Joyce Ann Burse, 3 sisters, Carol Connors, Cathleen Cornelius, and Stacey Pratt, and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Judith Parrish, a brother, Brett Parrish, a granddaughter, Arianna Burse, and a nephew, Jeff Pratt. Cindy was known by many from the local grocery store during her employment with County Market in Louisiana, MO. She came to know the community serving them with smiles and laughs. She later worked in home health care for the mentally and physically disabled at Ruth Jensen Village in Bowling Green, MO. She always wanted to work and help with handicapped people and this job brought her joy from the residents she took care of. Although bringing smiles and joy to people’s lives, some of her best achievements were in the kitchen! Cindy loved to cook and was a good one too. She had received awards for “Cook of the Year” at Pizza Hut in 1991 and placing as one of the best chilies in the “2008 3rd Annual Bob Battern Chili Cook Off” Cindy was a mother to all and turned no kid or friend away at her doorstep. Seen as a second mother to many people, she loved hard and would give her last penny to somebody if they needed it. She always gave 100% of herself if it meant making someone’s life better. She and her husband Robbie gave open invitations to their “Scrabble Nights” to everyone. Coming to scrabble night meant good drinks, memorable laughs, and even better records on the record player. But be prepared to get “spanked” as they both had a dictionary handy to one-up each other at their word game. Cindy taught her loved ones well about what life and death is. She was Christian by faith. She knew her body was only a vessel for her soul. When she can finally rest, her body is all it ever was, but her soul is eternal. Although all we have left of her is memories, her soul is still with us. In the light, in the music, in the random memories or thoughts of her that come and go. It is her reaching out to let everyone know she is with you, and loves you. As Cindy always said, “Peace out baby!”. We will see you on the other side “Mama Cins” Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice in care of the funeral home.
