Funeral services for Ms. Barbara J. Yates, 67, of Clarksville, Missouri, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 14th at the Bethel A.M.E. Church in Paynesville, Missouri. The Rev. Herbert Wommack and Rev. Rhoda Stuart will officiate. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Clarksville, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 13th at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, Missouri. Ms. Yates died November 8, 2009 at the Maple Grove Lodge in Louisiana, Missouri. She was born January 5, 1942 in Whiteside, Missouri to William and Martha Wommack Yates. She is survived by 3 daughters, Sandra Pearl (Kenny) of Clarksville, Missouri, Shelly Redd (Chris) of Clarksville, Missouri, and Suzette Yates of St. Louis, Missouri, 2 sons, Stacey Drew Yates (Carol) of Clarksville, Missouri, and Scott Jeffrey Yates (Becky) of Clarksville, Missouri, 11 Grandchildren, 4 Great-Grandchildren, 2 sisters, Janet Douglas of St. Louis, Missouri, and Sandra Warren of Clarksville, Missouri, 2 brothers-in-law, J.C. Douglas and J.C. Warren both of Clarksville, Missouri, numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Les and Emma Lou Yates, her mother, Martha “Granny” Yates on August 7, 1998, her father, William “Bubble” Yates on October 21, 2007, and a son, Stephen Eugene Yates on February 9, 2003. Barbara was raised in Paynesville, Missouri and attended school at Cullen Elementary school in Paynesville, Missouri, and Clopton High School graduating in 1958. She also attended Hubbard Business College in St. Louis, Missouri and Cosmetology school in Quincy, Illinois. She had worked at Kamp Togs Garment Factory in Clarksville, Missouri, Louisiana Head Start, Smith-Barr Manor Nursing Home in Louisiana, Missouri, and most recently at Holcim, Inc. in Clarksville, Missouri. She loved playing cards and Bingo and enjoyed being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Douglas, J.C. Warren, J.C. Douglas, Robert Scott, Wayne Warren, John Warren, Jr., K.D. Warren, and Robbie Scott. Active Pallbearers will be Leslie Redd, Eddie Wheeler, Gary Wheeler, Ronnie Redd, Gary Pearl, Mike Yates, Terry Shepard, and Rodney Wommack. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association in care of Collier Funeral Homes, Inc., 117 Barnard Drive, Louisiana, Missouri 63353.
