Funeral services for William Frank Strode, 88, of Louisiana, Missouri will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 29 at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. The Rev. Ben Teague will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11-2 at the Collier Funeral Home with Masonic services at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Barkley Cemetery in New London, Missouri. Mr. Strode passed away Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015 at Maple Grove Nursing Home in Louisiana. William was born May 1, 1927 in Ralls County, MO to Samuel (Lap) and Arena Rosser Strode. He married Mary Louise Taylor on Nov. 10, 1946 in Indiana. She preceded him in death. He is survived by four sons, Charles (Karla) Strode of Hannibal, MO, Daniel (Mary Beth) Strode of New London, MO, Larry (Kathy) Strode of New London, MO and Robert (Vicki) Strode of Wentzville, MO, and one daughter, Julie Reese of Warrenton, MO, one sister, Elizabeth Hawkins of Wentzville, MO, 9 grandchildren, Dr. Daniel Strode, Jr., Jeremiah Strode, Joseph Strode, Arena Baxter, Melissa Strode, Amanda Briscoe, Caleb Wuertenburg, William Reese and Taylor Strode. 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren, Jason Conrad Strode and Lawrence (Larry) Taylor Strode Jr., two brothers, Jack Strode and Sam Strode, and one sister Emily Musgrove. Mr. Strode was a member of First Baptist Church in Louisiana and served as a Sunday school teacher and deacon. He was a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star Nightingale Chapter #117, was a Mason, and worked for Union Electric for 42 years. He loved being outdoors and hunting. Pallbearers are: Raymond Spotanski, Daniel L. Strode, Jr., Jeremiah K. Strode, Joseph E.W. Strode, Caleb M. Wuertenberg and William H. Reese.
