Robert "Bob" Eugene Findley

March 23, 1931 - January 28, 2022

**An update for services due to weather, the Graveside service will not be held at the cemetery. Committal services and military honors will be held at the Collier Funeral Home following the memorial service. Robert “Bob” Eugene Findley, age 90 of Louisiana, MO passed away Friday, January 28th 2022. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. at the Collier Funeral Home, Louisiana, MO on Saturday, February 5th 2022. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home followed by a graveside service with military honors at the Jordan-Buffalo Cemetery near Louisiana, MO. Bob was born March 23, 1931 in St. Louis, MO to Edward and Sylvia Findley. He was one of seven siblings, four brothers and two sisters. Bob served in the Army and fought in the Korean War earning a Purple Heart for meritorious performance of duty. He loved driving and had his own stock car competing in different venues in the St. Louis area after the war. He also drove over the road coast to coast for Pacific Intermountain Express Trucking before starting his own company in 1968. Bob ran a successful roofing and sheet metal business from Louisiana for 48 years before retiring. Survivors include his sons: Bob Findley (Jonilyn) of Louisiana, MO, Bruce Findley of Manvel, TX, Brian Findley (Michelle) of Louisiana, MO, Gerard Findley (Betty), Dracut, MA, Darrell McElfresh (Carol) of Gower, MO; daughters Ginny Findley Murray of Spring, TX, daughter in-law, Vernelle McElfresh of Honolulu, HI; grandchildren Joe Findley of Louisiana, MO, Layla Findley of Keokuk, IA, Jake Findley of Alvin, TX, Brian Morrison of Louisiana, MO, Kayla Findley of Troy, MO, Jessica Boschert of Bowling Green, MO, Elizabeth Findley of Louisiana, MO, Michelle McElfresh of Louisiana, MO; Joshua McElfresh of Honolulu, HI, Jonathan McElfresh of Honolulu, HI, and Andrea McElfresh Weathersbee of Richardson, TX. He is survived also by many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Joyce C. Findley, his wife of more than 50 years, four brothers Nathan Findley, Jessie Findley, Bill Findley; two sisters, Ruth Mell, Millie Gratton; and four sons, Steven Findley, Stephen McElfresh, Graigory McElfresh, Ronald McElfresh, and his beloved German Shepard, friend and companion, Barney. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post or the Wounded Warriors Program in care of the funeral home.
