Norman (Bob) Lovell

May 17, 1945 - February 24, 2019

Norman (Bob) Lovell, age 73 of Louisiana, MO, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019 at the SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles, MO. Memorial services along with Military Honors will be held at 7:00pm on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, MO with Bro. Tim Bizzeli officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. Memorial visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Bob was born May 17, 1945 in Whiteside, MO the son of Norman John and Emma P Johnson Lovell. He married Kathy Ann Ebers March 1, 1975 at the Whiteside Baptist Church. She survives. Other survivors include brother Tom Lovell (Wanda) of Curryville; nieces and nephews. Bob is preceded in death by his parents; four-year-old son Clinton Lee Lovell. Bob grew up in Whiteside, attended Clopton Schools and graduated in 1963. Upon graduation he enrolled and attended at the University of Missouri where in 1970 he earned his Bachelors Degree of Science and Electrical Engineering. After graduation Bob joined the United States Army in October of 1971 until he was honorable discharged in May of 1976. He spent time in California and North Carolina before returning back to Missouri. Bob worked for 27 years as an electrical engineer for Hercules and retired in 2003. Bob loved the outdoors, being in nature and listening to birds. He loved to go hunting and fishing in his younger years and later enjoyed mushroom hunting and walking his dogs in the woods. He liked tractors, but especially his Massey-Ferguson 30. Bob enjoyed photography and taking pictures. Bob researched everything thoroughly. He never purchased something or did anything without doing as much research as possible before making an educated decision. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society or the Clopton Alumni Association.
