Mary Virginia Greene-Shelton, 88, of Louisiana, MO, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the Maple Grove Lodge Nursing Home in Louisiana, MO. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until time of home going service at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 5, 2022 at the First Baptist Church, 608 S. Carolina St., Louisiana, MO. Burial will be at the Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana, MO and a repast at the church following graveside service. Mary was born August 10, 1933 to parents, Elmer and Velma Greene in Louisiana, Missouri. She was the middle child of 3 siblings. The oldest brother Lawrence Greene (deceased) and youngest sister Sharon Greene - presently living in Louisiana, Missouri. Mary Shelton graduated from Lincoln High School in 1948 as valedictorian of her class. After graduation, she entered cosmetology school in St. Louis, Missouri, and became a licensed manicurist and beautician. She practiced her cosmetology, and serviced her dedicated customers for many years in Louisiana, Missouri. She married Charles William Shelton on April 10, 1955, and they celebrated their Marriage anniversary of 66 years together. She was a dedicated wife, mother, active in her community, and loved the Lord. To their union, 3 daughters were born - Jacqueline Shelton, Sherree Shelton-Cavitt, and Janet Shelton (deceased). She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, and daughter. She leaves behind her husband Charles, daughters, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren - as well as many other family members, and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Shepherd, Daylon Greene, Dominic Womack, and Xavier Berry. Active pallbearers will be Larry Greene, Avery Ross, Brian Ross, Stevie Ross, Isaiah Cavitt, and Charles Miller.
