Mrs. Lula Mae Brower, 94, of Clarksville, MO, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at her daughter and son in-law’s home in Clarksville, MO. No visitation is planned. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 18, 2021 at the Greenwood Cemetery in Clarksville, MO with burial to follow. She was born on May 22, 1926 in Calhoun County, IL, near Batch Town, to Edward Oren Church and Hulda Virginia Kitson Church. She was joined in marriage to Raymond Brower of Clarksville, MO on January 26, 1946. He preceded her in death on June 15, 1969. Lula Mae lived most her life in or around the Clarksville area. She went to Clarksville School. She worked in her early years before marriage as a housekeeper took care of several children. After marriage she was a homemaker and worked at Kamp-Togs garment factory for many years. She sewed items for veterans, veteran’s nursing homes, veteran’s hospitals, and helped in the V.F.W. Aux. #4610 and American Legion Aux. #349 and #370. She was a lifetime member of the VFW #4610 Auxiliary and the American Legion Post #370 Auxiliary. She was a member of the Ramsey Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed helping in the church activities. She enjoyed being with the grandchildren and great grandchildren, and was always ready to go fishing. She was always ready to help anyone that asked of her. She is survived by her daughter, Helen Riffle (Charles R.) of Clarksville, MO, 3 grandchildren, Ronald W. Brower (Sieglinda Melvin) of Fayetteville, NC, Kevin L. Riffle (Connie) of Bowling Green, MO, and Timothy Riffle (Cory) of Elsberry, MO, 6 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hulda V. and Edward O. Church, her husband, Raymond L. Brower, 2 sisters, Naomi C. Luckett, and Mildred Taylor, and 4 half-brothers, James E. Church, Lionel C. Church, Aaron H. Church, and Kenneth E. Church. She also had a long-time friend and companion, William Moore, that preceded her in death Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, MO in charge of arrangements.
