Judy Rose Harvey

September 29, 1921 - April 9, 2016

Juliana Rose (Weber) Harvey, 94, entered into eternal peace on Saturday April 9, 2016, at her home in Kansas City, Missouri. Juliana served her family, her community, her country, and her God all the days of her 94 years on this earth. Judy was born on September 29, 1921, the fourth of six girls to the late Frank and Justina Weber of Passaic, New Jersey. Being orphaned at the age of seven she was then raised by loving Foster Parents Albert and Rose Kruse. She graduated high school in New Jersey followed by her attending nursing school in Orange County, New Jersey. After obtaining her nursing degree she joined the Navy in 1944 where she served her nation during WWII as a Navy nurse at the San Diego Naval Hospital. It was there that she met her husband James Leroy Harvey of Clarksville, MO. They married in San Diego then moved to Louisiana and enjoyed 40 years together before Mr. Harvey’s passing in 1987. Her nursing career continued after WWII for an additional 40 years at Pike County Hospital where she ushered in three additional generations of new lives into the world. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband James L. Harvey, Sr.; four sisters, Chris Holovacs, Catherine Schneberger, Emma Weber, Gertrude Sulek, and foster sister, Alberta Kruse-Rodemann. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her loving sister Anne Salek of McMinnville, Oregon; three children Kathleen R. Goodin of Kansas City, Karen L. and husband Robert Sitze of Enterprise, Alabama, and James L. Harvey Jr. and wife Sandra of Kansas City. She leaves eleven loving grandchildren; William Goodin and wife Katie, Kristina Goodin, Amy Sitze, Carey Franks and husband Phil, Tracey Wilkinson, Julie McGregor and husband Leland, William Sitze and wife Tiffanie, Lisa Faircloth and husband Ryan, Robert J. Sitze and wife Maria, James A. Harvey and wife Shannon, and S Charles Harvey and fiancé Brittany Ogden; four great grandchildren; Taylor Goodin, Annabelle Faircloth, Lily McGregor and Garrett Franks; and three step-great-grandchildren; Grace E. Chambers-Goodin, and Cameron and Hannah McGregor. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 15th at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, Missouri. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Louisiana, MO. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Louisiana, MO following Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society or Pike County Hospice in care of Collier Funeral Homes, Inc., 117 Barnard Drive, Louisiana, MO 63353.
