Joyce Findley Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Joyce Catherine Findley, age 89, of Louisiana, MO, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2021 surrounded by family. Memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday August 7, 2021 at the First Christian Church in Louisiana. Joyce was born October 31, 1931 in Louisiana to Albia (Ab) and Irene Jefferies Steers. She was one of five siblings; two sisters and two brothers. She graduated from Louisiana High School in 1949 and waitressed at her parent's restaurant, Ab's Cafe, in Louisiana with her sisters Iola and Hazel. Joyce also worked at Starks Garden Center and The Shirley Shop in Louisiana for a number of years. She also helped manage the family business, J & R Roofing with her husband, Bob. She was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed baking and decorating cakes, and loved gardening. She volunteered at the Louisiana Clothing Room and was an active member of the First Christian Church. Survivors include her husband Robert (Bob) Findley of Louisiana, MO; sons, Darrell McElfresh (Carol) of Gower, MO, Bob Findley (Jonilyn) of Louisiana, MO, Brian Findley (Michelle) of Louisiana, MO, Bruce Findley of Manvel, TX; daughters, Virginia (Ginny) Findley Murray of Spring, TX, Vernelle McElfresh of Honolulu, HI; grandchildren, Michelle McElfresh of Louisiana, MO, Joshua McElfresh of Honolulu, HI, Jonathan McElfresh of Honolulu, HI, Andrea McElfresh Weathersbee of Richardson, TX, Joe Findley of Louisiana, MO, Layla Findley of IA, Jake Findley of TX, Brian Morrison of Louisiana, MO, Kayla Findley of Troy, MO, Elizabeth Findley of Louisiana, MO, and Jessie Boschert of Bowling Green, MO. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Iola Stoops, Hazel Henderson, Edgar Steers, Douglas (Mac) Steers; sons, Stephen McElfresh, Graigory McElfresh, Ron McElfresh.
