John L. Branstetter

Mr. John Luke Branstetter, 87, of Louisiana, Missouri passed away Monday, January 5, 2015 at the Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana, Missouri. John was born December 24, 1927 in Clarksville, Missouri the son of Clarence and Bessie Worsham Branstetter. He married Peggy Jean Harvey October 23, 1952 at Jerseyville, Illinois. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Peggy Branstetter of the home, two sons; David “Rusty” Branstetter and wife, Lois of Bunker Hill, Illinois and Robert Branstetter of Louisiana, Missouri, two daughters; Pam Walker of Bowling Green, Missouri and Jonilyn Findley and husband, Bob of Louisiana, Missouri, two sisters; Carolyn Lovelace of Paynesville, Missouri and Margaret Tarrants of Waterloo, Iowa, 7 grandsons, one granddaughter, eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 sisters and 2 brothers. He had attended the Louisiana R II School District. He was a veteran serving with the United States Army during World War II. John had been employed by Hartman-Walsh Painting Company in St. Louis, Missouri for 40 years. He was later employed at Bazan Painting in St. Louis, Missouri for 20 years before retiring. He was a member of Painters District Council #2 of St. Louis, Missouri and a 50 year member of the Louisiana Elks Lodge #790. Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, Missouri. The Rev. D. Randall Cone will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a. m. until time of services at Noon on Wednesday, January 7th at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana, Missouri. Pallbearers are; James Walker, Kyle Walker, Joe Findley, Ryan Branstetter, David Branstetter and Don Willis II all grandsons of Mr. Branstetters. Memorials may be sent to the Donor’s Choice.
