Harley "Jim" Ahart

June 12, 1943 - October 31, 2020

Mr. Harley “Jim” Ahart, 77, of Louisiana, MO, passed away on October 31, 2020 in Louisiana, MO at his home with his wife and daughter by his side. Cremation rites are being provided by Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, MO. He was born on June 12, 1943 in Granite City, IL to Harley Clifford Ahart and Nora Price Ahart. He was married to Katherine Davis on April 10, 1965 in Louisiana, MO and she survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Heather Ahart of Louisiana, MO, a son, Jim Ahart of Louisiana, MO, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, Eric Shedd, Dennis Shedd, and Sherman Shedd, and 2 sisters, Debbie Mikel, and Helen Tarter. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 daughters, Pam “PJ” Ahart, and Shannon Strieker, and 3 grandchildren, Luke Strieker, Troy Ahart, and Olivia Ahart. Jim was born and raised in Granite City, IL. After school he served in the US Army from 1960 to 1961. He then moved to Louisiana, MO and went to work for Burlington Northern Railroad until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Louisiana, MO.
