Freddie Joe Smith Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mr. Freddie Joe Smith, 82, of Pleasant Hill, MO, formerly of Louisiana, MO, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, MO. The Rev. Bobby Jones officiating. Burial will be at the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery near Bowling Green, MO. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Fred was born on June 9, 1940 in Hannibal, MO, the son of Russell Willis Smith and Beulah Mae Parker Smith. He was married to Thelma Griggs on August 27, 1960 in Louisiana, MO. She preceded him in death on December 29, 2015. He is survived by 2 daughters, Michelle Corine Sandy (Ray) of Pleasant Hill, MO, Angela Kay Clark (Tom) of Lee’s Summit, MO, a son, Freddie Joe Smith, Jr. (Christy) of North Pole, Alaska, 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, one brother, and one sister. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters. Fred attended school in Monroe City, MO. He ran his own business, Fred’s TV Sales & Service in Louisiana, MO for many years. In 1984, he and his wife moved from Louisiana to Lee’s Summit to make their home. Fred retired from Johnson Controls International Bottling Plant and installed siding in many states until 3 years ago when he fully retired. He enjoyed traveling with his wife on cruise ships, camping, and trout fishing in his free time. Pallbearers will be Ray Sandy, Benjamin Byard, Joshua Byard, Nathaniel Sandy, Asa Ishkantuna, and Thomas Clark.
