Mr. Elmer Watson, 74, of Louisiana, MO, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, MO. The Rev. Robert Hutsell officiating. Burial will be at the Crescent Heights Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, IL. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Elmer was born on October 8, 1947 in Portageville, MO to Alfred L. and Lula Watson. He was married to Deborah A. Niffen on June 7, 1985 in Ottawa, IL and she survives. He is also survived by his sons, Jimmy W. Winder of Louisiana, MO, Joshua E. Watson of Louisiana, MO, and John C. Watson of Pleasant Hill, IL, daughters, Jody Wilfong of Pleasant Hill, IL and Judy Winder of Louisiana, MO, 9 grandchildren, one great grandchild, 2 brothers, Alfred Watson and James (Ann) Watson, a sister, Myrtle (Spud) Deck, and “Rollie Pollie” from Texas, Pamela Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister in-law, Mary Watson. Elmer’s first job was working at the Lowell Brickyard and later was a partner of Dennis Schwanke Assoc. He loved his family and Jesus, loved kids, dancing, and kisses. He blessed everyone he touched. He enjoyed music and had bought instruments from a mandolin, guitars, and others, just so he could hear them. He would give a word of advice to his pastor, and to the love of his life, his wife Deb “Mom”. Memorials may be given to the family in care of the funeral home.
