Ellen Fancher

Mrs. Barbara Ellen Fancher, 78, of Louisiana, Missouri passed away Monday, February 9, 2015 at the Moore-Pike Nursing Home in Bowling Green, Missouri. Her desire was to be cremated. Memorial Services will be held Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Collier Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. with burial of her ashes at Fairview Cemetery. Reverend Art Moore will officiate. Ellen was born February 10, 1936 in Buffalo Hart, Illinois, the daughter of Joe and Marcella Stanfield-McDaniel. She married Harrold Dean “Benny” Fancher July 17, 1954 at the Methodist Church in Springfield, Illinois. Ellen is survived by her husband, Benny Fancher of the home, a daughter, Diane Sencenbaugh (Jeff) of Louisiana, Missouri and one granddaughter, Amanda Sencenbaugh; five siblings, Joe McDaniel of San Antonio, TX; Ron McDaniel of Portland, Maine; Sue Pegues of Rantoul, Illinois, Mary Salisbury of Springfield, Illinois, and Rob McDaniel of Berthoud, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her sister Beverly Ezrah. Ellen traveled a great deal with her husband. During Benny’s career in the military they were stationed in Washington State, New Jersey, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois; Japan, Alaska, Idaho, Kansas, Guam, Okinawa, and Missouri. During that time she was employed at various military bases as a secretary. They retired from the military life in 1974 and settled in Louisiana, Missouri. Ellen worked as a customer services representative for 25 years at Stark Brothers Nursery. She and her husband continued to enjoy travel around the 48 states for many years. Her interests included family, reading, crocheting and walking her dog Dolly. She was an active member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Louisiana, Missouri. She and Benny often enjoyed the company of their friends at the Louisiana Elks Lodge. Memorials can be made in remembrance of Ellen to the Centenary United Methodist Church in Louisiana, Missouri.
