Edward C. Wilson

December 30, 1939 - May 31, 2022

On May 31st, 2022 at 1:50 P.M., Heaven gained another piece of our hearts. Edward C. Wilson left this earth to join his loving wife. He was surrounded by his four children and two granddaughters. He was born on December 30, 1939 in St. Louis, MO. On May 1, 1959 he married Janet Spradlin, who preceded him in death on July 31, 2020. Edward is survived by a daughter, Teresa Payne (James) of Bowling Green, MO, and three sons, Douglas Wilson (Helga) of Quincy, IL, Darrell Wilson of St. James, MO, and Darrin Wilson (Emily) of Portage Des Sioux, MO. He also left behind twelve grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by sisters, Darleen Goggin of Lesterville, MO, Mary Fisher (Leonard) of Woodriver, IL, and Martha Roddy (Tom) of Aiken, SC, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Edward resided in Louisiana as the Kroger Manager for 45 years. He was and avid fisherman and considered, a day in his boat with rod and reel in hand, was a day well spent. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren in their sporting events. His passing has left a huge void in all our hearts, but we know he is with the love of his life, and they are walking hand in hand down the Streets of Gold. Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M. on June 3, 2022 at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, MO. The Rev. Charles Moore officiated. Burial was at the Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana, MO. Visitation was held from 9:00 A.M. until time of service Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, or donor’s choice.
