Mr. Charles “Charlie” Edward Price, 81, of Louisiana, MO, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 2, 2020 at the Veterans Home in Mexico, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, July 6, 2020 at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, Missouri. Fr. Lou E. Dorn will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until time of service Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Ashley Fairview Cemetery in Ashley, Missouri. Charlie was born March 6, 1939 in Oakwood, Missouri to James Oliver and Lora Wagner Price. He married Veda McChristian December 18, 1965. Together they had two children, Shelia Price Edmiston (Alan) of Eolia, Missouri, and Michael Price of Bowling Green, Missouri. Charlie served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1965. He then joined the Navy Reserves. After his military discharge, he worked for Louisiana Plastics, Special Road District, Louisiana Police Department, and later Holcim (Dundee Cement). He retired from Holcim in March 2004 with 35 years of service. After retiring from Holcim, he went to work for Louisiana R-2 School District as a bus driver for 8 years, while also working part-time for Abel’s Quick Shop. Charlie was very involved in the Boilermakers Union Local 469 serving as President for 10 years. Charlie enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and his two grandsons. He enjoyed watching and listening to High School sports and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He was a member of the American Legion. Charlie is survived by his wife, Veda, their two children, Shelia and Michael, one brother, Robert Ray Price (Marianne) of Farwell, TX, and two very special grandsons, Price Alan Edmiston and Parker Dale Edmiston. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Oliver and Lora Wagner Price, three brothers, Lloyd Estell Price, James Russell Price, Delbert Clefton Price, and two sisters, Rosa Lee Davis, and Martha Evelyn Price. Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul “Chip” Traynor, Herb Sisco, Donnie Stewart, Allie Jim Wombles, and Robert Minor. Active Pallbearers will be Price Edmiston, Parker Edmiston, Delbert Lee “Buddy” Price, Billy Price, Ron Barker, and Richie Potter. Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Hospitals, American Cancer Society, Pike County Home Health, or MO Veterans Home, Mexico, MO.
