Mrs. Billie Ruth Wharton, 71, of Louisiana, Missouri passed away Friday, November 15, 2013 at the Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. The Rev. Charles Moore will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a. m. until time of service at 2:00 p. m. Saturday, November 23rd at the funeral home. She was born July 12, 1942 in Louisiana, Missouri, the daughter of Charles Irvin Harrison and Juanita Penrod Harrison. She married Charles William Wharton, Sr. June 17, 1961 in Louisiana, Missouri and he preceded her in death December 29, 1983. Billie is survived by a son, Glenn Irvin Wharton and wife, (Joy Elizabeth) of Louisiana, M0, two daughters; Melissa Winchell and husband, Troy of Pleasant Hill, Illinois and Penny VanHooser and husband, Daniel of Louisiana, M0, 8 grandchildren; Jessica Wharton, Mollie Wharton, Elizabeth Wharton, Ashlynn Wharton, Charles Wharton, Christian Wharton, Lucille Wharton and Glenn Wharton all of Louisiana, M0, 2 great grandchildren; Izabella Wharton and Eli Yanzer both of Louisiana, M0, 5 brothers; Carl Harrison of Louisiana, M0, Charles Harrison and wife, Sandy of Quincy, IL, Kenneth Harrison and wife, Sue of Rockport, IL, Richard Harrison and wife, Sharon of Louisiana, M0 and Ross Harrison of Louisiana, M0., 2 sisters; Mary Miller and husband, Russell of Mexico, M0. and Juanita McCloed and husband, Donnie of Hannibal, M0 and nieces and nephews. Billie was preceded in death by a son, Charles William Wharton, Jr. in August of 1978, her parents and a brother, John Harrison. She had been employed at the White House Liquor Store and later at Abel’s Quick Shop in Louisiana as a cashier until her retirement in 2001. Billie will be greatly missed by her family. She was a wonderful loving mother, wife, aunt and an amazing grandmother. Honorary pallbearers are her brother’s; Carl Harrison, Charles Harrison, Kenneth Harrison, Richard Harrison, Ross Harrison and grandson’s, Christian Wharton, Charles Wharton and Glenn Wharton II.
