Theodore Redd

Theodore Eugene "Ted" Redd, 75 of Clarksville, passed away on Dec.14th 2010 at St. Lukes Hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri. His wishes were to be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A repast at the VFW hall in Clarksville, Missouri will follow the services. Ted (Doodle) was born June 25, 1935 in Clarksville, to Moss and Mary Alice Bolden Redd. He married LaDoris Yates in 1954. As a young man Ted worked in Springfield, IL while living with his Aunt Helen Bolden. Moving back to Clarksville he went to work for the Duvall Motor Company. Next he became a mechanic for John Deere Farm Supply of Louisiana, MO. Doodle made a lot of good friends traveling around the area working on John Deere equipment. He finished his employment years at Holcim Cement Company retiring in 2002. Ted became and avid wood worker after retirement. He loved everything John Deere especially restoring and repairing older mowers and tractors. American Legion Post 349 Clarksville was a place Ted enjoyed frying fish, playing Bingo and visiting with friends and strangers. Ted always had time to lend an ear and make everyone feel special. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Doris Redd. Daughter Terry Redd, sons Ronnie (Diane) Redd of Clarksville, and Lester Redd of Troy, MO. Grandchildren are Ryan (Erica) Chatman of Louisiana, MO; Anthony, Matthew, Lizbeth Redd of Clarksville, and Shawn Redd of Troy, MO. Great Grandchildren are Bryce Chatman, Taylor Chatman, Grace Chatman, and Paxtin Redd all of Louisiana, MO. Surviving brothers are Harold Wheeler of Davenport, Iowa; Jamie Wheeler of Vandalia, MO, and Christopher (Shelly) Redd of Clarksville, MO. Surviving sisters are Daisy (Frank) Warren of Clarksville, MO; Jean Ann (Dempsey) Dixon of Vandalia, MO; and Fannie (Bill) Carter of Davenport, Iowa. Surviving brothers-in-law are Frank Yates ( late Geraldine) of Louisiana, MO and George Yates (late Winifred) of Clarksville, MO. Surviving sister-in-law is Maymie Wheeler (late Edward) of Eolia, MO. Ted was preceded in death by his parents and his in laws, Les and Emma Lou Yates. Sisters Virginia (Ginny) Davis and Annette Redd. A brother Dewitt Redd died as a young child. Brother and sister-in-laws Lewis & Daisy Davis and William & Martha Yates. Ted is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Memorials may be made to The Kidney Foundation or the Clopton Alumni Association in care of or Collier Funeral Homes, Inc., 117 Barnard Drive, Louisiana, Missouri 63353.
