Mr. Robert William Phillips, 76, of Louisiana, Missouri passed away Friday, August 16, 2013 at the Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, August, 20th at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. Robert W. Martin will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 P.M. Monday, August 19th at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana. He was born December 26, 1936 in Louisiana, Missouri the son of Benjamin Franklin Phillips and Virginia Chrisman Phillips. He married Barbara Ann Looper November 20, 1959 at the First Presbyterian Church in Louisiana, Missouri. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Phillips of the home, One son, Greg Phillips and wife, Brenda and sons, Kyle and Kolin Phillips all of Boise, Idaho, Three daughters, Lisa Phillips and daughters, Emily and Jenny all of Louisiana, Missouri, Julie Boston and husband, Billy of Louisiana, Missouri and children, Josh Boston and wife, Kristi of St. Charles, Missouri, Jake Boston of Bowling Green, Missouri and Annie Boston and friend, Cary Gray of St. Charles, Missouri and Sara Cunningham and daughter, Meghan of Louisiana, Missouri, One great granddaughter, Addison Boston of St. Charles, Missouri, one sister, Margaret Elam and husband, Les of the State of Arkansas and one brother, Larry Phillips of Rushville, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Franklin and Virginia Phillips and a sister, Jeannie Hallows. Bob graduated from the Louisiana High School in 1954. He was a veteran serving with the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He had been employed as a Rural Mail Carrier for the United States Postal Service for 37 years before retiring. He was a member and past Deacon of the First Baptist Church in Louisiana and had been very active in the church serving as Chairman of the Deacons. He had been very active in the community serving on the Louisiana Fire Department as a Volunteer Fireman for a number of years. Serving on the Board of the Louisiana Public Library and the Pike County Nutrition Center Board. Bob loved his family and was extremely proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren . In his past time he loved to watch the St. Louis Cardinals play Baseball. He also enjoyed going to “Hardee’s” for his morning coffee with his friends. Honorary pallbearers are; Stan Ehinger, Don Ince, Bobby Jay Penrod, Fred Bridwell, Bill Boston, Jim Renner and Mike Edwards. Active pallbearers are; Willard Wamsley, Melvin Fisher, Dennis Parsons, Steve McMorris, Chester Loesing, Monty Fischer, and Carroll Schnitzer.
