Funeral services for Mrs. Norma Jean Preston, 78, of Louisiana, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 17th at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, Missouri. Mr. Robert Rue will officiate. Burial will be at the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Bowling Green, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Preston passed away on January 14, 2013 at the Maple Grove Lodge in Louisiana, Missouri. She was born June 27, 1934 in Louisiana, Missouri. The daughter of George and Ruby Magdeline Thompson Shade. She married Joseph M. Preston September 26, 1952 at the First Baptist Church in Louisiana, Missouri. He preceded her in death on January 26, 1994. She is survived by 4 sons, Joseph Michael Preston and wife Vera of Vernon, Alabama, Garry Wayne Preston and wife Cheryl of Hannibal, Missouri, Kenneth Ray Preston and wife Brenda of Center, Missouri, and Wesley Eugene Preston of Columbia, Missouri, 1 daughter, Rita Fay Baker and husband Wayne of Louisiana, Missouri, 24 Grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, 3 sisters, Martha Preston and husband Tom of Louisiana, Missouri, Leona Butts of Houston, Texas, and Georgeanna Martin and husband Darrell of Louisiana, Missouri, 3 brothers, John Shade of Louisiana, Missouri, Donald Shade and wife Leah of Louisiana, Missouri, and Bill Shade and wife Sandy of Louisiana, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her parents, George and Ruby Shade, a daughter, Judy Kay Preston Settles, and 1 grandson, Ronald Elmore Preston. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Louisiana, Missouri. She loved spending time with her family and reading her Bible. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be Andy Preston, Kenneth J. Preston, and James Preston. Active Pallbearers will be Michael Baker, David Baker, Rodney Baker, Austin Baker, Dylan Preston, and Joshua Vardaman.
