Mike M. Traynor

Mike Masters Traynor, 71, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025 surrounded by his family. A graveside service and burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 23rd at the Dover Cemetery near Clarksville, MO. The Rev. Frank Welch will officiate. He was born in Edgewood, MO to Earl Dalmon and Willie Belle Traynor. He was the husband of Cheryl Preston Traynor. They shared 52 years together. He attended Clopton school and graduated in 1972. He loved to farm, bale hay, and raised his girls on horses, training, showing, and trail riding as a family. He also loved raising coon hounds, hunting, and riding his mules. He raised their girls to respect their elders and to always look to God for guidance. Mike lived most of his life in Pike County, MO. He attended the Baptist Church and gave his life to the Lord Jesus in in 1988. He worked for HR Burns and Guy Roofing for several years and then finally retired from MODOT in 2006 after 28 years of employment. After retiring, Mike and Cheryl went on many adventures and new places. He enjoyed mission trips and working for the Lord. Mike and Cheryl had 3 girls, Gail Lynn Traynor Bishop (Roger), Rebecca Ann Traynor Scoggins (Josh), and Jessica Louise Traynor Spurlock (John), and the only son, Gus Traynor the squirrel yippin dog. He also had many grandchildren; Samantha Unsell (Scott), Cody Bishop (Erin), Raylin Ellis, Adam Spurlock, Luke Spurlock (Brooke), Matthew Spurlock (Gabby), and Shellyann Avant (Bryan). His great grandchildren; Ethan Unsell, JD Unsell, Daisy Bishop, and Bo Bishop. He was preceded in death by parents Earl and Willie Belle Traynor, brother and sisters; Jimmy, Donna, and Iris, and a grandchild Annabelle Ellis. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Alton, MO during the 4 years they lived near Koshkonong, MO. Memorial donations may be made to the Macedonia Baptist Church in Alton, MO. Pallbearers will be Mike’s brothers, Milo Traynor, Terry Traynor, Earl Traynor, Marion Traynor, Guy Traynor, and Donald Traynor. Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, MO is in charge of arrangements.
