Mary Lou Ince

Mary Lou Ince, 95 of Louisiana, MO, passed away at DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, MO on September 21st, 2022 surrounded by her loving husband and family. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. on September 26th at the First Baptist Church in Louisiana, MO. The funeral service will follow on Tuesday, September 27th at 11:00 A.M. at the church. Burial will be at Greenpond Cemetery in Pearl, Illinois. Mary Lou entered this world on July 9th 1927 in Montezuma, Illinois born to the late Floyd and Ruth (Johnson) Johnston. She spent her childhood growing up at the farm on Milton prairie. She graduated from Milton High School in 1945. After graduating she went to ERTI school (Electronics Radio Telecom Industry) in Omaha, NE, was a phone operator at Pittsfield Phone Company, worked in the office and plant at Brown Shoe Company and Hartford Insurance Company in Chicago, Il. Later in life she volunteered at the Pike County Memorial Hospital gift shop and the Clothing Room. She started her walk with God at the Greenpond Christian Church at birth. After settling in Louisiana, Mo in 1962, she became and remains a member of the First Baptist Church where she is remembered for her many years of service in the nursery, WMU, Mission trips and as a loving example to all that knew her. She married Don Ince, the love of her life on October 30th, 1949 and celebrated a milestone 70th anniversary in 2019. They were blessed with four children: Donnie Ince and Pam of Louisiana, MO, Connie Godsil and Kevin of Galesburg, IL, Tom Ince and Sandy of Murphysboro, IL and Marta Jines and Mark of Louisiana. She was lovingly known as Grandma, Drama and Maw Maw to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Kris Miller and Brent of Louisiana, MO and their children Dalton (Jennifer Miller), Hannah and Kaylee; Ashley Skirvin of Pleasant Hill, IL and her children Allyson, Adelyn and Ella; Joel McMahill of Geneseo, IL and children Madie, Kate and Jillian; Josh McMahill and Amy of Montgomery, IL and children Lorelei and Dean; Tim Godsil and Morgan of Anamosa, IA; Annette Marshall and Phil of Gurnee, Il; Kevin Godsil Jr of Galesburg, IL; Travis Ince and Cassie of Murphysboro, IL and children Trinity, Owen and Nora; Aleisha Garver and Mitch of Ava, IL and daughter Alayna: Amber Ince of Murphysboro, IL and children Brantley, Emmy and Kalel; Jennifer Millard and Andrew of Jefferson City, MO and children Mayson and Harper; Kayce Jines of Bowling Green, MO and children Dane, Bryson, Khilyn, Brinley and Wesley; and Trey Jines of St Louis, MO. Mary Lou is also survived by her brother Dean Johnston of Quincy, IL; sister-in-law Ona Day Johnston of Pittsfield, IL, and many many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Harold Johnston; sister, Marjorie Bissell, and great grandson Leo Ince. May we all be so lucky to have such a long beautiful life, loving and being loved, and now sitting in the presence of God.
