Funeral services for Mrs. Joanne Marie Hill, 77, of Louisiana, Missouri will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 6th at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, Missouri. The Rev. Tim Bizelli will officiate. Burial will be at the Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5th at the funeral home. Mrs. Hill passed away on February 1, 2013 at the Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana, Missouri. She was born on March 8, 1935 in Louisiana, Missouri, the daughter of George and Grace Dexter Thomas of Louisiana, Missouri and they preceded her in death. She was a native of Louisiana, Missouri and graduated from Louisiana High School. She was a beautician at Ilas Beauty Shop here in Louisiana for 4 years and then moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she worked at Hallmark Cards for 5 years then returned to Louisiana. She was employed at the Pike County Hospital for 18 years. She then managed the Champ Clark Motel for 5 years until she retired due to poor health. She was married to Leon Jessie Hill on August 26, 1976 in Hartwell, Georgia and he survives. Other survivors include her son, John Allen Thomas and wife Gayle of Louisiana, Missouri, a brother, John Albert Thomas and wife Patty of Payson, Illinois, a sister, Barbara Davidson Thomas of Jacksonville, Florida, 6 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, 4 Step-Great Grandchildren, 1 niece, and 2 nephews. Mrs. Hill was a member of the Pentecostal Church in Louisiana, Missouri where she was the organist. The family of Joanne wishes to thank everyone for their prayers during her illness and the kind thoughts after her death. She was a loving kind Mother, Sister, and Friend to all of us who will reunite with her and all of our family members someday in Heaven. Her memory is our keepsake from which we will never part. God has her in his keeping and we have her forever in our hearts. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Allen Thomas, Christopher Allen Thomas, Chris Niffen, Gary Richardson, John Albert Thomas, and Dennis Page.
