James Douglas

Mr. James Christopher Douglas, 68, of Clarksville, Missouri passed away Monday, May 24, 2010 at the Country View Nursing Home in Bowling Green, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at l:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 1st at the Clarksville Baptist Church in Clarksville. The Rev. Johnny Nicholas assisted by The Rev. Edward Spies will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 1st at the church. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Clarksville. He was born November 19, 1941 in Clarksville, Missouri to James Christopher Douglas, Sr. and Marie Turner Douglas. He married Janet Yates, August 27, 1961 and she survives. He is also survived by one son, William Christopher Douglas of Clarksville, Missouri, Four daughters, Sherry Lynn (Troy) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Melinda Marie Terrell (Darryl) of Kansas City, Missouri, Lisa Christine Sydnor of St. Louis, Missouri and Sonya Kay Hopkins (Damon) of Kansas City, Missouri, Mother, Marie Carter of Jacksonville, Illinois, Brother, Christopher Curtis Redd (Shelly) of Clarksville, Missouri, Sister in-law, Sandy Warren, brother-in-law, John Warren both of Clarksville, Missouri, 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, Aunt, Dorothy Turner of Minneapolis, Minnesota and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, uncle, Eugene Turner and a sister in-law, Barbara Yates who passed away Nov. 8, 2009. He had been employed at Kamp-Togs Garment Factory at Clarksville for a number of years. Later working for the Village Market in Clarksville and for Dundee Cement Co. as a Janitor until his retirement. He was a member of the Clarksville Baptist Church and a Son of the American Legion in Clarksville. Honorary pallbearers are; Robert Scott, J. C. Warren, Frank Warren, Frank Hooton, Lionel Warren, James Weaver, Joe Mabry, Delbert Parsons, Allen Turner, Bill Blakey and Melvin Underwood. Active pallbearers are; John Warren, Kenneth Warren, Scott Yates, Stacey Yates, Robbie Scott, David Davis and Damon Hopkins.
