Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Marjorie Logan, 92, of Eolia, Missouri will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, July 14, 2011 at the Indian Creek Baptist Church near Lewisville, Missouri. The Rev. Bob Feeler will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 13th at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, Missouri. Burial will be in the Indian Creek Cemetery. Mrs. Logan passed away Sunday, July 10, 2011 at the West County Care Center in Ballwin, Missouri. She was born July 3, 1919 near Lewisville, Missouri to Edgar and Lucy Fay Halley Colbert. She married Cecil Pearl Logan, June 30, 1939 near Lewisville, Missouri and he preceded her in death November 24, 1994. She is survived by two daughters, Vickie Logan Spurlock of West Lafayette, Indiana and Marjorie Sue Naegel and husband, Ted of Chesterfield, Missouri, one son; Cecil Thayne Logan and wife, Linda of Eolia, Missouri, 7 grandchildren, Stephani Wagener of Dutton, Alabama, Katharine Woodhead of West Lafayette, Indiana, Kathy Logan of Los Angeles, California, Amy Liptak of San Diego, California, Melissa Huckabay of Fairfield, Texas, Jennifer Arnold of Longview, Texas and Chris Naegel of Chesterfield, Missouri, 11 great grandchildren and one sister, Ora Lucille Lindsay of Eolia, Missouri and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Rodney Logan who passed away in July of 1996. She graduated from the Silex High School then attended Hannibal Lagrange College in Hannibal, Missouri where she received her associates degree. She received her Bachelors Degree in education from Southwest Missouri State University at Springfield, Missouri. Mrs. Logan taught at the Horace Mann Elementary School in Springfield, Missouri from 1964 until retirement in 1980. She had lived in Louisiana, Missouri from 1954 to 1961 when her husband pastored the First Baptist Church in Louisiana. She was a member of the Indian Creek Baptist Church at Lewisville, Missouri and had served on the Board of the Baptist Children's Home in St. Louis, Missouri. Pallbearers are; Ted Naegel, Dale Lindsay, Edgar Lindsay, Chris Naegel, Nathaniel Huckabay and Bryce Woodhead. Memorial may be given to the Cecil P. Logan Scholarship Fund at Hannibal LaGrange College in Hannibal, Missouri.
