Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Anne Davis, 59, of Paynesville, Missouri will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 1st at the Bethel A M E Church in Paynesville, Missouri. The Rev. Rhoda Stuart and The Rev. Beverly Stith will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 30th at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, Missouri. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Clarksville, Missouri. Doris passed away Saturday, April 24, 2010 at her home in Paynesville. Doris was born May 1, 1950 in Louisiana, Missouri to Hadley and Cordelia Porter Davis. She is survived by one son, Jeremy Davis and Fiance, Julia Nall of Paynesville, Missouri, Her companion, Howard Rose, Jr. of Paynesville, Missouri, Two step-sons, Mark Powell of Clarksville, Missouri and Paul Powell of Eolia, Missouri, Two step-daughters, Paula Richardson and Peggy Powell both of Louisiana, Missouri, Three sisters, Elsie Davis of Decatur, Illinois, Mary Davis of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Margaret Davis of Peoria, Illinois, Three brothers, Ogarland Davis of Paynesville, Missouri, James Davis of Joliet, Illinois and Albert Davis of the State of Minnesota, 4 grandchildren and a special granddaughter, Tina McGruder of Hannibal, Missouri and a host of Nieces and Nephews. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, One son, Travis Davis, two sisters, Eva Mae Davis and a twin sister, Dora Lee Davis and a brother, Quintus Richard Davis. She had graduated from the BONCL Elementary School and attended the Clopton High School at Clarksville, Missouri. Doris had been employed at Kamp Togs Garment Company for a number of years and later as a Nurses Aid at the Sunset Nursing Home in Elsberry, Missouri. Doris was a member of the Bethel A M E Church in Paynesville, Missouri and had been active serving as a Trustee and Stewardess of the church. She was a member of the VFW Post 4610 at Clarksville, Missouri. Pallbearers are; Anthony Redd, William Powell, Darrell Chatman, G. T. Wheeler, Bruce Stewart, Jr. and Roosevelt Burse.
