Donna Jean Pitzer

Donna Jean Pitzer, 87, of Louisiana, MO passed away on Thursday, September 19th, 2024. Cremation rites are under the direction of Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, MO. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 6th, at The Louisiana Elks Lodge from 2pm-4pm. Donna was born on January 2nd, 1937 in Louisiana, MO to Erna Ellen Howard and Charles Ferry Smith. Her father passed away when she was a young child and she was raised by Fred Loami Booth. On July 5th, 1956, Donna was united in marriage to the love of her life, James (Jim) Fielden Pitzer. He preceded her in death on January 27th, 2024. Besides her parents, step-dad, and husband, Donna was also preceded in death by all of her siblings: Sarah (Pete) Gray, William (Beatrice) Smith, Hazel (Chuck) Roberts, Charlene Sis (Tom) White, Janice (Clyde) Pyle, and Elmer Buddy (Hatsue) Smith. Donna and Jim are survived by their children, Lindy (Danny) Wood, Jim JR (Brenda) Pitzer, and Becky Chitwood (Stan Kriete). Grandkids are Brian (Kerri) Wood, Dana (Joe) Collard, Danny JR (Terri) Wood, Andrea (Adam) Orf, Skyler Pitzer, Kacie (Michael) Simon, Caleb Grover, and Samantha Grover (Jermaine Chatman). She also has several great grandkids and two great-great grandkids, a multitude of nieces and nephews, & two sisters-in-law, Ellen (Oey) Spears and Glenda Pitzer. Donna was a hard worker having worked a variety of jobs over the years with more recently working at JC Penney’s, Pike County Memorial Hospital, and The Trimble House. She was also involved in various clubs and organizations over the years including The Willing Workers 4-H Club, Lick Valley Homemakers Club, Buffalo Church, Jordan-Buffalo Cemetery, and a charter member of the Louisiana Elkettes. Donna was known by many for the love of her family, her faith in God, and her cooking abilities which included made from scratch German chocolate cake, cinnamon bread at Christmas, and bar-be-qued meatballs. She was also known to be spunky and full of sass which was a trait that everyone loved about her.
