Funeral services for Ms. Ada V. Murr, 86, of Louisiana, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 24th at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, Missouri. The Rev. John Lersch will officiate. Burial will be at the Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23rd at the funeral home. Ms. Murr passed away on August 19, 2011 at the Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana, Missouri. She was born on August 20, 1924 in Greenback, Tennessee to Thomas and Joan Henderson Murr. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 3 brothers, William Murr, Ernest Murr, and Clyde Murr. She is survived by 1 sister in-law, Vera Murr of Louisiana, Missouri, 5 nephews, John Murr and wife Jolene of Louisiana, Missouri, Charles Murr and wife Pamela of Sutter Creek, California, Robert Murr of Modesto, California, James Murr and wife Rhonda of Louisiana, Missouri, and Gary Murr of Knoxville, Tennessee, 1 niece, Candace Murr of Knoxville, Tennessee, and numerous Great and Great-Great Nieces and Nephews. Ms. Murr was very instrumental in the raising of her nephews, John, Charles, Robert, and James. She had been employed as a Marketing Services Administrative Assistant at Stark Bro's Nurseries in Louisiana, Missouri. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Louisiana, Missouri and was very active volunteering in many activities in the church. She was a 25 year member of the Nightingale Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, and was a member of the Patterns & Patches Quilt Group. Honorary Pallbearers will be Charles Murr, Robert Murr, Ross Henry, Christopher Murr, Zachary Murr, Gabriel Murr and Amy Murr Hedtke. Active Pallbearers will be Jonathan Murr, Walter Logan, John Murr, James Murr, Nicole Lesley, and Eric Murr.
