Mary Jane Niffen, 81, of Louisiana, MO, passed away on May 13, 2019 at her granddaughter Barbara Dowell’s home in Clarksville, MO. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, MO. The Rev. Robert Hutsell will officiate. Burial will be at the Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana, MO. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 15th at the funeral home. She was born on January 7, 1938 in Louisiana, MO to George Henry Alexander and Mamie Maude Stoner Alexander. She was married to Roy Niffen on September 23, 1961 and he preceded her in death on December 29, 1993. She is survived by 3 sons, Marty Allen Niffen (Melissa) of St. Charles, MO, Robert Wayne Niffen of Texas, and George William Niffen (Carla) of Troy, MO, 3 daughters, Julia Maxine Dowell (Roger Sr.) of Clarksville, MO, Tammy Marie Niffen of Louisiana, MO, and Penny Jane Niffen (Allan Cast) of Louisiana, MO, 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, a brother, John David Alexander of Louisiana, MO, a sister, Gayle Marie Irvin of Louisiana, MO, 2 sisters in-law, Robin Pruitt of Louisiana, MO, and Maxine Hathaway of Louisiana, MO, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 4 brothers, Joe Alexander, Ray Alexander, Thurston Alexander, and Elzie Alexander, and 3 sisters in-law, Gerry Turnbaugh, Becky Niffen, and Donna Malcom. Mrs. Niffen was a graduate of High School Class of 1953 at Kinderhook, IL. She had worked as a nurses aid at different nursing homes over the years. She loved to go fishing, playing bingo, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan. She was known as Grandma Jane to most and was loved by everyone. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Niffen, Frederick Harrison, Marty Niffen, Clarence Charlton, Ryan Stumbaugh, and Chance Horn. Active pallbearers will be Michael Dowell, Bobby Niffen, James Paul Coleman, Dan Bishop, Vernace Charlton, and Jonathon Shealer. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospitals.
