Leone Cadwallader

Frances Leone Cadwallader, 94, of Louisiana, Missouri passed away on June 6, 2008 surrounded by the love of family & friends. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, June 23rd at the First Baptist Church in Louisiana, MO. Dr. Ben Teague will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at the church. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana. Leone Jones was born July 27, 1913 in Fountain Hill, Arkansas to James & Ethel Hill Jones. She was orphaned at the age of 14 Months and raised by her grandparents. She graduated from Fountain Hill High School. She had accepted a position to teach in a rural school when she decided to resign and move to Louisiana, MO. She married and had two children, Robert Ashton and Patsy Ruth. She worked at Wells-Lamont Glove Factory until she accepted a position with J C Penney’s where she worked for approximately 30 years. She later became Pike County Public Administrator, a position she held for several years. Leone became a member of the First Baptist Church in Louisiana in 1936. She taught Jr. age girls and served in many different capacities. She was an active member in PTA, Girl & Boy Scout Troops and Pike County Democratic Club. She helped organize and served on the Board of Buffalo Township United Way. She served many years with the Louisiana Industrial Development Corporation, Louisiana Planning & Zoning Committee, managed a softball team, worked with Cancer Crusade and Heart Fund Drives, and Louisiana Recreational Association. Business and Professional Woman’s Club was very dear to her heart and she was chosen B & PW Outstanding Woman of the year in 1989. Louisiana Chamber of Commerce honored her as the Outstanding Citizen of the Year in 1978. A loving mother, grandmother and very busy volunteer, her main goal in life was to be available to others whenever needed. Leone is survived by her daughter, Pat Rosenblatt of Wildwood, Missouri and five grandchildren; Stacy (John) Baxter, St. Louis, M0: Marcy (Matt) Kovis, Wildwood, M0; Gail (Jerry) Smith, Nancy (Ray) Gesson and David (Viki) Cadwallader all of Louisiana, Missouri. Twelve great grandchildren, Andrew & Evan Baxter, Adam, Austin, Delaney Harris & Samuel Kovis, Steven (Bryca) Ince, Marla Geeson, Brendan, Schyler, Brooklyn & Julianna Cadwallader. One great-great granddaughter, Lauren Ince and many Nieces and Nephews from the southern Arkansas area and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Cadwallader, Son-in-law, Phil Rosenblatt, Grandson, Robert Joseph Cadwallader and Grandson in-law, Roger Harris. Also three siblings, Clinton, Mary and Alice. Active pallbearers are; Matt Kovis, Adam Harris, John Baxter, Jerry Smith, Steven Ince and David Cadwallader. Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be great grandchildren; Marla Geeson, Andrew & Evan Baxter, Austin Harris & Schyler Cadwallader. Another great grandson, Brendan Cadwallader is unable to serve as he is in Europe at this time. Honorary pallbearers are; Don Ince, Robert Ince, John Lewellen, Bill Strode, Phil Smith and George Collier. Vocalist are; Dixie Holland, Sandra Moore and Pam Ince. Janice Griffith will be the accompanist.
