Dortha Dell Glass

Mrs. Dortha Dell Glass, 79, of Louisiana, Missouri passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at her home in Louisiana. A Mass of The Christian Burial will be held at 3:30 P.M. Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, Missouri. Father Lou Dorn will officiate. Visitation will be held from 3:00 P.M. until time of services at 3:30 P.M. Saturday, March 19th at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery near Louisiana. She was born July 28, 1936 in Louisiana, Missouri the daughter of Cletis and Martha Holiday Love. She married Dr. Robert L. Glass December 27, 1956 at the First Presbyterian Church in Louisiana. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Robert L. Glass of the home, two sons; Robert (Steve) Glass of Sturgeon, Missouri and Eric Glass of Silver Spring, Maryland, two daughters; Martha (Susie) Dilley (Thad) of Alexandria, Virginia and Caroline Nuwer (Paul) of Hurlock, Maryland, 9 grandchildren; Hannah Glass, Holly Glass, Brian Dilley, Kyle Dilley, Alexandra Bowie, Austin Mansy, Katie Mansy, Mark Glass and Emily Glass, 4 great-grandchildren; Cheston Bowie, Harrison Dilley, Landon Dilley and Abigail Dilley, a twin sister, Freda Harris of Seattle, Washington, one brother, Mackie Love (Carol) of Dauphin, Manitoba and a sister-in-law, Ruth Love of Louisiana, Missouri and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cletis and Martha Holiday Love and one brother, Lindell Love. She graduated from the Louisiana High School in 1953. In 1956 she graduated from the St. Luke’s School of Nursing. She had worked with her husband in his private practice for a number of years. She had been very active in volunteer work traveling to Kenya and Uganda, Africa with her husband to provide medical assistance. She was an avid supporter of the Twin Pike YMCA and had taught an exercise class at the Y for a number of years. Dortha loved being with her family and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are; Eric Glass, Robert (Steve) Glass, Kyle Evan Dilley, Thad Evan Dilley, Paul Edward Nuwer II and Brian Robert Dilley. Memorials may be given to the Twin Pike YMCA in care of Collier Funeral Homes, Inc., 117 Barnard Drive, Louisiana, MO 63353.
